supplementary reinforcement verification

Hi,

When longitudinal reinforcement on the edge is present, according to EC2, for an anchor or a group of anchors subjected to both tension and shear, the utilisation factors should be replaced by the corresponding values for failure of the supplementary reinforcement.
An example was run in Profis for with and without supplementary reinforcement and returned identical results. Could you please shed some light why this has happened?

thanks,

Thanks for your enquiry, looking at the pdf files attached you have utilised the SOFA bond method which would not activate the supplementary reinforcement. Please change your design models to EN1992-4 only (Nos SOFA 2 or filled holes) so that the supplementary reinforcement option is activated and follow any on screen messages that maybe applicable regarding edge distances, rebar arrangement, utilisation etc.
