I have a single column/base plate which will be used to support a piece of public art. The column will need to be installed vertically, so the intention is to take out construction tolerance on the foundation using a non shrink levelling grout. The base fixings will be HST3. The base plate is nominally 20mm plate, with an expected grout thickness of 25mm. Can HST3 fixings be used in stand off position, and if so, do you have an limitations and requirements which limit the stand off height? If HST3 bolts are not suitable, can you suggest an alternative?
Thank you.
Dear Philip,
Yes HST3 can be used in stand-off conditions, however with relative limitations due to base material characteristics, loads applied and anchors spacing. This would require a specific analysis done by our technical team.
Please feel free to send your query (including the above additional information) to gb-technical@hilti.com, one of our engineers will get back to you.
Kind Regards
