Pullout test - UK

Is it a requirement to do a pullout test on the resin anchors cast in the new build concrete slab or only a good practice?

Design was based on the as built information of the slab

Thank you for your question. If all the details are known i.e., base material properties, spacing and edges etc with the post installed anchor design having been carried out utilising an ETA approved product in accordance with the relevant standard then there is no requirement to carry out an onsite test regarding the anchor performance. The engineer responsible may however decide to check the quality of the workmanship by requesting ‘Proof Load’ testing.

Hi, I would suggest referring to the following publication BS8539:2012 Code of practice for the selection and installation of post-installed anchors in concrete and masonry. 'Test to check the quality of installation'

Hi, Can you advise which document/standard provides guidance on Proof load testing?
