PROFIS potential bug

PROFIS potential bug

If I try to change the design method for my PROFIS design (just to see how the various codes/guidance compare), and then change it back to Eurocode (with ETAG, SOFA, ETA 98/0001), it jumps from 100% utilisation for concrete edge breakout to 146%. This appears to be because it reverts to using the Eurocode 2 method for calculating concrete edge breakout, rather than allowing me to apply the ETAG equivalent.

Is this a bug, or is there some sort of code/guidance incompatibility issue that I am not seeing?

Thanks for your enquiry and also uploading your pe file.  Having reviewed your file it was created with an older version of PROFIS Engineering (as far as we can see, this was saved w/ version 83). In version 83 SOFA design method was based on ETAG 001 Annex C and EOTA TR029. When you firstly open the old file, it still opens with the old SOFA design, and the results do not change. Since then we have implemented a new SOFA design, which is based on Eurocode 2-4. The verification for concrete edge breakout has been updated in the EN1992-4 to consider cylinder strength as the base strength, and hence giving slightly lower results. When you re-select SOFA in the UI, it goes to the new SOFA design.
