Profis. Holding down bolts anchor plate size?

Hi,

I am trying to design a holding down bolt arrangement for a conventional base plate arrangement.

My preference is to cast the bolts in a mass concrete pad for ease of construction. I am trying to replicate a conventional bolt arrangement with a threaded rod with a square embedded anchor plate to improve my splitting and break out behaviour but i see no obvious functionality for this.

I assume the washer value in the software is related to the washer embedded at the bottom of the bolt, so i could increase this to match a specified circular plate but this value is limited to a maximum of 40mm in my case.

Could you advise if it is possible to include for a custom anchor plate within the software?

Regards

Thanks for the question there isn't an option for square plate washer in the software it would be a case of using the round washer to get the required surface area. As HILTI do not supply cast in anchors we only have limited data available regarding 'common' European options which may not be applicable in your local market.

I am trying to carryout a similar design analysis. It is likely a full bolt jig assembly with square plates at bottom of holding down bolts will be used but these are likely not absolutely required for design to work. I have noticed a threaded anchor rod can be selected as a cast-in anchor but limited to M24; whereas HAS-U 8.8 HDG anchor rod is available upto M30; does the premium licence include a wider range of anchors to choose from including cast in anchor at size M30 which I suspect is necessary? An alternative cast-in anchor is 'Headed Fastener' but I cannot find any info on this on Hilti Website but this is also limited to M24.

Thanks for the follow up as previously mentioned we don't supply cast in anchors so we wouldn't be able to comment regarding availability of larger sizes. I'd suggest checking with your supplier whether they have a European Technical Assessment for their product and sizes above M24 and if they have you can follow EC2 Part 4 for the design. Regarding the M24 it is the limitation irrespective of which version of PE you have . Regarding post installed anchors we have products where ETA cover anchors up to M30 and hence they area available in the software.
