The hilti PROFIS software specifies a HSL4 M16 HEF3 fixing but does not identify a product code.
As there are only 3 lengths available for this fixing, and the 153mm anchor length applies to the HEF1 fixing, please could you confirm whether the 178mm anchor length applies to the HEF3?
Thanks for your enquiry, one thing you haven't mentioned is the thickness of the item being fastened to the concrete and if there is any grout. Using HEF3 with the M16 means that the effective anchorage depth is is 150mm so in relation to the typical fastened thickness this would be reduced by 50mm. So for example HSL4 M16/50 (178mm long) If installed at hef1 100mm the fastenable thickness T/fix is 50mm however using the same anchor and increasing to hef3 (150mm) the fastenable thickness T/fix is reduced to Zero as you have installed the anchor 50mm deeper in the concrete. Now it could be that you require a none standard length i.e. a 'specials item' or an alternative head style such as a HSL4G for example as an off the shelf item.
