Minimum concrete cover

Hello,

I need some help calculating the minimum concrete cover needed in a couple of cases. In both cases I want to use M12 bolts and Hilti Hit-CT1.

Case 1:
M12 bolts and a concrete cover of 40 mm, is this enought?

Case 2:
I have a column steel footing connection to the slab, where the concrete cover is 42mm. Here i can put some reinforcement if this can help out, since it's a new build slab.

Please see the attached image for clarification.

Best regards,
Ahmad Al-Robaei

Thanks for your questions.
For HIT-CT 1 the minimum edge distance need to be at least 45mm for size M12. In case no.1 it looks like the IPE 120 is casted into place and you want to place the anchors through this. Drilling through the IPE 120 will require some more effort than drilling in only concrete.
In case no.2 the same caution needs to be taken regarding the minimum edge distance as the HIT-CT 1 M12 requires at least 45mm, this is with or without supplementary reinforcement present.
Our design software PROFIS Engineering is free to use and lets you design your anchors, it will also help you determining what minimum distances is required for a specific anchor and size.
