HUS4 fixings minimum thickness of concrete member

Hi,
Can you assist?
In your datasheet you have one value per embedment depth for hmin minimum base material thickness.
Your ETA document has one value of hmin which is given as h1+30mm, however h1 can be different.
e.g. for a HUS14 with hom3 h is noted as 200mm.
h1 for cleaned hole = 125mm, h = h1+30=155mm
h1 uncleaned floor hole = 163mm, h = h1+30=193mm

For minimum thickness h, I would like to use h>= h1+30mm rather than the upper limit h you have given which covers all hole drill parameters.

Thanks for your enquiry however for compliance with the ETA documentation and the published load resistances the respective minimum base material hmin must be achieved for the respective Hnom depth. This will of course, be dependent upon whether the hole is cleaned , horizontal, vertical or overhead.

Thanks. To clarify a HUS4-12 with 85mm hnom2 could have a hole depth of 95mm for a cleaned hole and a h minimum thickness of concrete member of 125mm.

Thanks for the follow in that scenario HUS4-H12 hnom2 the minimum then according to ETA 20/0867 Table B9 the concrete thickness should be a minimum of 130mm.

Thanks.
Sorry, I mean to type HUS4-14. Anyway, sticking with the the 12's as an example something doesn't make sense.
For a HUS4-12 hnom2 in a cleaned hole depth h1 = 90mm and hmin=h1+30mm = 120mm and not 130mm.
Also, for a HUS4-12 hnom2 if the hole depth is 124mm hole for an uncleaned hole in the floor and the minimum concrete thickness is 130mm, this leaves only 6mm.

No worries, please remember that h1 is referring to the depth of hole required depending upon the site conditions and how the hole is drilled. Hnom will be the nominal embedment depth based upon the fixture thickness fastened whilst hmin is the minimum base material required in respect of the selected criteria . The values published in the ETA (Also used in Profis Engineering) will have be derived from the initial product testing in accordance to the European Assessment Document.

Thanks.
The h values and the 'h=h1+30mm' statement in the ETA contradict themselves. Can you clarify which is correct?
I think 'h=h1+30mm' makes more sense to me as using the h value could lead to only 6mm of material after the hole and probably burst out for the hus4-12 hnom2 with a 124mm deep hole and 130mm h.
