Hello,
Existing RSA member is attached on a chimney masonry wall. Historical information refer to Hilti Hit C-100 M16 anchors used. Could you please share the technical data sheet for this resin in order to us ensure that additional load proposed can be undertaken by existing anchors?
thanks
Thank you for your enquiry, I have a couple of things to point out regarding your request. Firstly, HIT-C100 was formulated specifically for concrete structures with the correct resin being either HIT-C50 for solid masonry or HIT-C20 for hollow masonry.
Second point we would not have recommended the use of a chemical anchor in a masonry chimney. This would be due to potential contamination within the masonry units caused from byproducts of an open fire that could break down the matrix of the resin, and we still do not recommend the use of a chemical anchor in such circumstances.
