We have a requirement to construct a ventilated facade on our office building first and second floors and are considering using the HILTI S2S System to be finished with Trespa facade sheets that have a weight of 11-14KG/M2.
The facade anchors MFT S2S 2L shall be fitted to Structural Steel beams with the vertical profiles required to span each building floor level at 3.6 Meters each. The overall height of the facade shall be circa 8.5 Meters . As we expect to fix to structural steel beam profiles and that there is the requirement for the finished facade face to project slightly in front of an existing ground floor wall stone facia, the maximum combined anchor and vertical profile projection from beam fixing face to facade face shall be 290-300mm.
To specify a bill of materials for purchase we are looking for Hilti guidance on
A) the anchor size MFT S2S-2L recommended for this application
B) the vertical profile MFT-S2S-TT dimension recommended, noting that there appear to be different widths and thicknesses available
C) The vertical profile spacing necessary to support 14KG/M2.
D) The normal expected engagement distance of the vertical profile into the support anchors (in mm) to ensure correct fixing
and at the same time enabling us to achieve the 290-300mm projection necessary
We are requesting this information so as not to "over engineer" the facade support structure and therefore the work and cost content
