Hello,
In the rebar software there is an option to select drilling aid for the installation process. Could you please advise what are cost implications of using drilling aid?
Thank you
Hello,
The 'Rebar drilling aid' is used to minimize the effect of having some deviations in the rebar positions due to drilling.
This process has not the aim to optimize the penetration length or the hole diameter, therefore it will not produce any effect on the amount of resin required to fill the penetration.
However by not selecting the correct aid method, it might results on having bars installed with a not expected deviation in position of the rebar subject to installation (2 to 8%) which, in splice connections for example, might generate a reduction of the force transfer being calculated from the post-installed bar and the existing bar.
In this case, the worst scenario might be the generation of more fixing points required which would have cost implications then.
