Hi, in the Profis Engineering software, the HST3 and HST3-R M24 anchors do not allow changing of the embedment depth. In my current situation, an M20 seems to be outperforming an M24 because I can get more embedment.
Thanks for your question, do you possibly have a PE file that you can share so we can see your specific input parameters ? I suspect at this point, it could be that if you have an edge nearby and due to the M24's deeper embedment depth you are getting a larger reduction factor compared to the M20's giving them a more favorable result.
Apologies, I thought I would get a notification of reply. See attached file. I've got it set to M20 with the maximum embedment I can (150mm), but switching to an M24 makes it 'worse' (125mm embedment with no option to change).
I have made it work now with refining everything, but I did have a load case where the M20 worked, but the M24 didn't
Thanks for the PE file. Ok what you have experienced is that the HST3 M20 has a flexible embedment depth range hef,2 of between 101 - 180mm whilst the M24 hef,2 is fixed at 125mm. You can see this range with the attached ETA on page 20 table B9 Installation Parameters for HST3 and HST3R so based on the details of your file it would be possible to increase the embedment depth of the M20 and achieve a lower concrete utilisation value.
