Hilti Anchors fixed to Concrete Blockwork Wall Supporting Steel Beam
I have a steel beam that needs to be fixed to a 100mm thick Blockwork wall. The unfactored end reaction is 14kN. The steel endplate will be 10mm thick. Can you recommend the type and number of anchors required please

Thank you for your enquiry, if you have Profis Engineering you could look at that to run a design within the masonry module using the HY270 resin mortar however it would depend entirely upon the block properties as to the design resistance . I would say that 'by eye' your load is ambitious for a typical block unit and if a low density block material then unrealistic. I'd suggest contacting your local HILTI technical department for further discussion.
