Hello,
I would like to latterally fix the top beam of an exteria precast wall to the edge of a cast-in-place slab. First we planed to place Comax (Reinforcement strip) into the precast wall to connect withthe cast-in-place slab but we forgot. So, we need to find a post-installed solution.
The wall top beam need to carry vertical and horizontal load from the slab of 14 kN/m and 20 kN/m, respectively. I checked Hilti PROFIS Engineering and HIT-RE 200 V3 REBAR phi12 every 200 mm seems to work. However, I usually use Hilti products to connect between an existing structure to the extended one and never between 2 existing parts. Could you please tell me if Hilti products could work with my application?
The attached are the screen shot of the application and PROFIS calculation report. If HIT-RE 200 V3 REBAR phi12 is not suitable, I would be thankful if you could suggest some other solution for my case. Thank you.
Thank you for your question. There is no published data to support your connection as indicated through the outer wall section. You could model the outer wall section separately to assess the capacity of the fixing in that area only against the required loadings and then make an engineering judgement. I would suggest contacting your local HILTI technical department for further discussions in case of local code requirements.
