Embedment depth limitation for resin anchor solutions

Embedment depth limitation for resin anchor solutions

Why is there a limitation to embedment depth for resin anchor solutions ? E.g. h_ef for M16 it is limited to 320mm? This does not depend on the base material thickness. Is it some technological limitation due to using specific tools for cleaning, brushing etc? Or is there a structural reason for this?

Thank you for your enquiry question. In brief for fastener design theory (EN1992-Part 4) the concrete tensile capacity is directly used to transfer loads into the concrete component. The limitation of 20 x d is that if this is exceeded, a linear bond stress distribution or concrete cone method may not be conservative enough.

Hello I require some technical surrport and design calculations for HIT-HY 200-A/R INJECTION MORTAR. we have specified it for a project. and the client wants some details in relation to its performance. I have showed them the data sheet but they require a custom calculation. We have specified a hole depth of 120mm embedment with a 16mm dia reinforcement steel. Can hilti confirm what the Tension and Shear loads can be achivied by using this product in uncracked concrete.

Hello PM, I'd suggest contacting your local HILTI office for assistance. They will need to know the existing concrete details, spacing, edge distances, etc . You can also look at utilising the Profis Engineering software for the design again just follow the online registration process on your local HILTI website.
