We're currently design a pedestrian parapet using Varley & Gulliver pedestrian parapet. I have a question regarding the partial action factor. We can see from the generated reports that the material safety factor is applied but does the Hilti Profis considers or applies the partial safety factor to the action ? If not, can you advice on the value of the partial safety factor to the live loading applied onto the parapet ? Thanks.
Thank you for your enquiry. In Profis Engineering you have two options . Option one 'Design Load' i.e. already includes your predetermined load partial safety factor. Option two Characteristic load where you select the appropriate partial safety factor for your specific application such as 1.4 or 1.6 or a combination etc Note you can change these factors for your compliance with your local code if required in the Default Parameters - Application Settings
