I would like to seek guidance on how to combine both Mechanical and Adhesive Anchor Types on the same base plate within Hilti Profis. Specifically, I have Mechanical cast-in place anchors installed on the inner circle and Adhesive anchors installed on the outer circle. Could you provide guidance on how to ensure proper installation and compatibility between these two anchor types? Thank you
Thank you for your enquiry. Currently there is no design code covering the mixing of different types of anchors on the same baseplate. Any design (Not possible in Profis Engineering software) would be based upon the engineer responsible for the project and may require them to undertake several separate calculations using their own judgement to ascertain a solution that is satisfactory.
Care should also be taken checking all the parameters from strength to setting details as they will be different. Additionally, as has been proven different systems have varying stiffness therefore it cannot be assumed that the anchors distribute the load equally.
