Check transfer of loads into base material according to FIB 07/2011

Hello,

I have received profis resin anchor calculations where there is a warning:
Checking the transfer of loads into the base material is required in accordance with fib (07/2011)!
Is this check done or should be done by designer?

And restraint level 2 was chosen. What are the situations where restraint level 2 can be chosen?

thanks,

fib,warning,restraint level

PROFIS Engineering offers the designer the possibility to go beyond the codes, which means in Europe to cover the applications for example a non standard anchor arrangement which is not taken into account within EC2 Part 4 /ETAG/ETA.

In your specific case the software is asking you to select our SOFA method, which was designed in order to extend the application conditions of current codes and to provide reliable calculations based upon extensive internal and external research results, and/or incorporating existing design approaches based on ongoing research and application experience.

Once you have selected SOFA, then PROFIS will be automatically filling of the gap between the shaft of the anchor and the clearance hole. One way of meeting the criteria is to utilise the filling set and inject additional resin such as the HY200 / RE500. Another option of course, is if you are using a countersunk headed bolt and your base plate is countersunk you also comply with SOFA.

With regards to the 'restrain' that is intended as rotational restrain corresponding to the amount of rotation a fixture can undergo when stand-off exist.

Restrain =1 - No restrain shall be assumed if the fixture can rotate freely (this assumption is always conservative)
Restrain = 2 - I the fixture cannot rotate due to a clamping systems by nut and washers.

Kind Regards,
