The building will have a large expanse of external decking in front of the main façade. As there will be a void below the decking, the fire engineer has asked us to provide cavity barriers between the slab and the decking at max. 20m intervals. Also, there will be electrical services running across the area below the decking, fire stopping will be required where cables passthrough the cavity barriers.
Do you have any products that would be suitable for use as cavity barriers or for fire stopping in this application ?
The cavity barriers should form a complete seal between the concrete and decking
Thanks for your question, could I suggest you local HILTI technical department with a dimensioned sketch of the make up of the structure and gap along with the required fire rating so it can be assessed for feasibility by our fire engineers.
