Im looking to secure a Metsec 172 cleat to the top of a 140mm wide internal blockwork wall. However the transverse holes specified by the manufacturer is 70mm meaning that I only have 35mm clearance to each face of the dividing blockwork wall. Is there an anchor suitable?
Thanks for your enquiry. We don't have any data for the situation as described as our test data is based upon fixing into the face of the block and not the top of the unit. We wouldn't typically recommend fixing into the top row of the units to avoid the bricks/ blocks being levered out of the wall as they are not restrained. You may want to consider a longer fixing ( Resin perhaps?) that goes down multiple courses and also test onsite to establish the resistances.
