I have designed a 200x220x16 equal angle and I require it to be anchored to a 102.5 brick wall face. All of the design passes apart from "brick edge failure" which fails by 304%. I'm not sure why it is failing on this could you guide me on how to correct this. The wall is part of a 120m platform, the repair section where the angle will be fixed is only 2.2m.

Thank you for your question. The software is following ETAG 029 Annex C for the design criteria based upon results from testing of the masonry unit . Section C.5.2.2.5 of the ETAG is dedicated specifically to Brick Edge Failure. Items that can affect the performance, is the selected brick unit whether solid or hollow. This has a large effect as the ETAG limits the loads in hollow units depending upon the load direction and the edge distance from the wall to between 1.25 - 2.5kN .
