I am currently generating an anchor arrangement and base plate design for 914mm CHS subject to a >2,300kNm bending moment. The scale of this moment is subjecting the anchors to a high tension force which is resulting in concrete breakout. As per BS EN 1992-4, Cl. 7.2.1.2 (1), concrete failure can be disregarded if supplementary reinforcement can be included designed to Cl. 7.2.1.9. I am preparing independent calculations to specify this supplementary reinforcement. Can you please confirm if there is a means within the Hilti software to verify the supplementary reinforcement to eliminate this concrete failure?
Thanks for your enquiry, yes there is an option to design supplementary reinforcement up to a maximum of 16mm bars (EC2 Pt 4 7.2.2.2 3B ) using the Profis Engineering software. You can find the activation under the Rebar Icon on the left hand side of the screen. You can also find video tutorials regarding supplementary reinforcement for shear or tension & combined within the ASK HILTI online content as well as upcoming CPD webinars
