For some of the toughest jobs on site or surrounding areas, only a chainsaw will do. With a 40cm bar, the SCN 60-22 cordless chainsaw can handle a range of tasks that need a heavy-hitting approach. And with the advantage of it being on our Nuron platform, you can benefit from having an all-encompassing tool bag that’s powered by a single battery platform.
Performance
With a chain speed of 21m/s (meters per second), the SCN 60-22 offers reduced vibration for users while delivering our fastest chainsaw cuts. This makes it perfect for working on wood beams, timber, laminated timber and more.
While optimised for high chain speed the narrow bar means less kick-back, so you can cut safely and with more confidence – especially at height. With a 40cm / 16” bar you also have a degree of versatility in your hands for a range of tasks.
Convenience
One of the biggest features of a battery-powered chainsaw is the ability to start the device instantly. This is in comparison to a petrol-powered chainsaw which requires checks and prepping before starting. In addition, you don’t have to leave the tool running for up to a minute before using it from a cold start, saving you time each day.
The added complication of fuel storage and transportation is also one less thing to worry about when using a battery chainsaw. Especially when carrying additional battery packs can be less hazardous vs petrol cans.
The SCN 60-22 has also been designed with ergonomics in mind. This includes rubberised grip and making sure the tool is well balanced to allow for better controlled cuts during use.

Maintenance
In terms of tool maintenance, the SCN 60-22 doesn’t feature petrol engine components. This means no worries about fuel leaks, air filters or spark plugs. With a brushless motor that helps the chainsaw power through tasks, you also have one less thing to worry about regarding maintenance and how long your tools will last.
When it comes to changing the chain, this chainsaw also accommodates easier chain replacements with dual bar mounting nuts that make for easier chain swaps or tensioning. A 210ml on-board oil tank also keeps your chain and bar lubricated during use.
Safety
As a battery-powered device you won’t need to worry about petrol fumes during operation, especially in places where there is limited ventilation. And as previously mentioned, battery-operated chainsaws don’t have the complication of storing or transporting fuel on the go.
And one big safety feature that shouldn’t be overlooked, is the auto-shut off feature on the saw. If there isn’t any activity on the saw for one minute, it will automatically shut off – adding an extra layer of safety while conserving battery life at the same time.
When using a chainsaw, always remember to wear the relevant safety protection, including a helmet with integrated visor, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw trousers and boots.
