Regarding Hilti HIT resin anchors in blockwork masonry

We have a situation where we wish to install resin anchors into the side of a 140 block wall to support a timber joist ceiling.

To limit bearing on the timber we need to install resin anchors at 225 c/c horizontally your minimum is, if I am correct, limited to 440 c/c.
If we only load them to 50% would this still be acceptable?

Thanks for your question, anchor spacing comes down to the block, selected embedment and whether you are designing manually using the published data by hand or using the software. In both cases the data assumes that you are fixing to the face of the unit. By hand the following is applicable Minimum spacing between anchors = MAX (3 x hef ; size of brick in respective direction). This applies for a (conservative) manual design/calculation of a baseplate using the load tables in this
manual. Whilst as the screenshot below it is possible to use a close spacing if using the Profis Engineering software.
